You have gathered your hiker equipment! But when loading your backpack, you wonder what hardware to store first and how to optimize the space? Our response in detail.
1.FIND THE RIGHT BALANCE
Hikers know it well: loading your backpack is not easy! For a bivouac of several days, we recommend a backpack of 40 liters or 50 liters.
After a rigorous selection of the equipment to take away comes the time to choose the best distribution of the latter. For this, one mission: to ensure a good balance front/rear and left / right loading.
If your bag leans to one side, your body forces and tires unnecessarily to compensate for this imbalance. You also increase the risk of falling, uphill and downhill. Equally important is a compact load that avoids rattling or sudden flip-flops that can cause a fall.
2.THE SECRET OF AN OPTIMIZED LOADING?
The heavy elements are placed in the middle of the bag and closest to your back, the elements of average weight at the bottom and the periphery, and the lighter elements above.
AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BAG
Place your sleeping equipment (duvet, mattress) and your spare clothes. Slip your water pocket along your back. Your spare shoes can win the bag bottom pocket.
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BAG
Store your tent (vertically), your stove, your meal and the food. Everything must be located closest to your spine.
If there is not enough room for your tent and it is light, you can fix it at the bottom of your bag, thanks to the outside hooks. And if your bag is equipped with straps on the top or bottom you can put your tent in order to save space inside.
TOP OF THE BAG
Keep your fleece handy, your waterproof jacket and your care kit. The carpet will slip under the flap or under your bag, always thanks to the outside hooks.
IN THE VARIOUS POCKETS OF THE BAG
You can store sunscreen, cards, a compass, and sunglasses. The cereal bars or the camera can join the belt pocket for faster access. Your telescopic sticks are instead to store outside the bag, vertically.
IN THE REMAINING SPACE
You will be able to place your hiking gear that will prevent the material from wandering in your bag.
3.SET YOUR BAG
A final step awaits you: make the custom setting of your cheap backpacks.
First, before putting it on, you need to adjust the back height. Then, once on your shoulders, the belt is the first item to adjust, followed by the shoulder straps and finally the tightening of the load recall.
